I don't know much about modems. I have 2 modems from my DSL provider, one being a combo modem/router sent to me when I upgraded the DSL service to "High-Speed" (supposedly 1.5 to 6.0 Mbps, though I've never seen above 5Mbps). The service provider says that the combo unit is better, faster, stronger, etc. Which I have trouble believing. The router itself sucks to set ... Full story
