error message when trying to add account

i get the following error message when trying to add an account on mint.com, i have disabled pop up blocker, but in the bottom left of my screen, i get this error:

can a virus be burned in a cd along with your files??

the computer in my workplace has tons and tons of viruses. From worms to trojans, etc. all my important files are there and I want to have a safe copy of my files because there had been countless times that the computer would just break down and files will be erased forever. So i decided to copy and paste most of the contents from my folder into a USB and pasted it in my laptop.

before i did anything, i scanned the usb.. and as expected there were a lot of viruses detected. they were removed or cleaned and the usb was clean (so it says). i didn’t open the folder yet because i want to burn it directly into a cd then open it after.

will the virus be burned in a cd??? are the viruses really "Gone"???

HELP PLEASE!! PC running XP, was installing service pack 3 was taking forever:( I had to leave…I made the terrible mistake of turning the PC off with the power button while it was installing sp3, I thought it had stalled. When I turned it back on it went to a black screen that said something about windows was not shut down properly, down at the bottom it had start in safe mode, last known good configuration and start windows normally all the choices just made it restart and go to the same black screen.

I googled the problem and followed the instructions for booting from the recovery console and entering the command for uninstalling the service pack…it just started listing 1 file(s) copied over and over again. Tried hitting esc and control alt delete but the only way I could get out of it was to shut the pc off by the power button.

I disabled restart on errors and rebooted, it then had a blue screen that said something about autocheck not found and I think autocheck skipped, the got the BSOD that said:

STOP: c000021a (Fatal system error)
the session manager initialization system process terminated unexpectedly with a status of 0xc000003a (0×00000000 0×00000000)
the system has been shut down:(

I am in a state of panic…could never afford to repllace this pc and have lost the XP cd. I can boot from the recovery console…is there anything I can do to fix this disaster?

Problem removing Anti-Virus

Hi all,

I’ve got a Dell Precision 3000 desktop running XP home edition. I have McAffee 8.5 enterprise running on the system and i want to replace it cos my license has expired. I used the add/remove programs but someone accidentally interrupted the uninstallation process. Now the system boots and i see McAffee virus scan running in the system tray, but its not there in the add/remove programs and i don’t see any McAffee services running. Is there any way i can remove the program completely? Someone suggested removing it from the registry but i’d only do that as a last resort. Any suggestions will be welcome.

hello i hav used this site once b4 n found it useful from others threads but now i am stuck. i am a little savvy with computers and like to think i know a little but obviously not enough. i recently downloaded a program and believe it had the worm - WORM_MYTOB.A attached into its exe. i use trend micro for virus scans and its constantly coming up in my scans and quarantine’s the file. i have researched it on the trend website but the way the tell me 2 delete it doesn’t work, it tells me to delete sum registry entries but they are not under the same name. since this my email has massive amounts of spam.
the program i tried to DL was a thing for a game Call of duty 4. and since this virus detection the program will not run even after a reinstall. any help wud b appreciated! i also use winoptimizer thinkin it wud pick up the registry entries if the worm was deleted by trend but did not. i am thinking the virus code is embeded in another file described by trend website but unable to know how 2 find.

Ram hovering around 75% when computer is idle

Hi, first post but I couldn’t find the answer googling it myself.

When I’m just using the internet and running uTorrent my laptop runs normally if a tiny tiny bit slow but sometimes when I’m not on Firefox the RAM will spike up to 75%-100% for about ten seconds and the computer just slows to a crawl :dizzy:

Basically what I want to know is, is there anywhere I could post some stats of whats in my computer and could anyone point a finger at what is wrong? I’ve scanned with Kaspersky, MalwareBytes, I use CCleaner and Defraggler regularly so the PC is well maintained :/

in my ie browser it wont let me access facebook anymore but on the same pc i can access it from firefox any help on fixing this problem

Need Help Finding PC that Can Run 2 Displays

I want to buy a new PC computer primarily used for spreadsheets, internet surfing and e-mail. My current computer is about 5 years old and only has 512MB ram. I have some large excel spreadsheets (100MB, 65000 rows) that take over a minute to open or save which is way to slow for me. I was thinking of buying the Gateway DX4831-01E (6GB memory, Intel i3-530 processor, 1TB HD) for $550 at Best Buy. Will this computer be able to open/save my spreadsheets in a few seconds? Is there a better computer in this price range for my needs?

I often have 10+ websites open at the same time and I run two displays with my computer. I had to purchase a GeForce FX5200 128MB DDR TV/DVI video card when I bought my last computer so I could run two displays. Do any computers in the $500 to $800 range come out of the box with the ability to run 2 displays at the same time? If so, please list the computer model and price?

I was also wondering if I buy a computer that does not come with the ability to run 2 displays simultaneously, will I be able to install the FX5200 video card in my new computer or should I just purchase a new video card? Does anyone have a recommendation for a video card. I don’t need the video card for gaming, I just need it to be able to run 2 displays simultaneously. One of my displays is an older model that has a 15 pin VGA input and a 24 pin DVI input. My other display has a 15 pin VGA input and a HDMI input. So I need a video card that can connect to these 2 displays. Does anyone have a suggestion on a video card.

The tech support at Best Buy isn’t very good so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

8800 GT Help

i have a 8800gt with the latest driver 196.21 installed. I was deleting some files from add/remove last night plus i ran a disk cleanup before that to free up some hard drive space. after all that was done everything was working properly. today i turned my pc and noticed that the graphics changed. In device manager my 8800Gt has the exclamation sign beside it but i have no idea whats the problem. I removed the driver, rebooted and reinstalled the 196.21 driver and everything is the same. when i double click the nvidia control panel i get this message:

Nvidia display settings are not available. You are not currently using a display attached to an nvidia gbu.
I checked the general properties for the card and it has a code 37 error saying windows cannot initialize the device driver for the hardware. When i click the check solutions nothing occurs.

Any idea what could have caused this and what i should do to fix it.
